Leeds United are stepping up their transfer activity as they look to get a few new signings through the door before pre-season begins in just a few weeks.

The Whites are in talks to sign Fulham winger Harry Wilson, and have offered the winger a big pay rise to move to Elland Road on a free transfer this summer.

Leeds are also in negotiations to sign Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Julian Brandt as they seek to add the German star’s experience to their squad.

They are also closing in on a deal to sign Southampton midfielder Shea Charles. However, the arrival of the 22-year-old star will lead to a major departure this summer.

Leeds United open to offers for Ilia Gruev

Ilia Gruev was an important part of the Leeds squad that finished 14th in the Premier League last season and featured in several big games for the Whites.

However, he was in and out of the team, and the club have a decision to make with Gruev entering the final year of his contract this summer.

The midfielder recently indicated that he is happy at Leeds, but the arrival of a new midfielder will necessitate a sale from the squad.

And according to TeamTalk, Gruev is the favourite to be sold if the club end up finalising a deal to sign Shea Charles from Southampton in the coming days and weeks.

His contract situation and the fact that he is a squad player make it easier for Leeds to decide to sell him this summer.

Leeds are open to offers for Gruev, who was a major player in getting Leeds promoted and was an important cog in the wheel last season as well.

Gruev would prefer to stay in the Premier League even if he moves on from Leeds in the ongoing transfer window.

An inevitable exit from Elland Road

Leeds are keen to move to the next level, and that requires an evolution of the squad, which is only possible through the departure of a few beloved players.

Gruev was a key figure in Leeds’ promotion campaign and also played his part in several standout moments last season, including the memorable victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

However, the arrival of a new midfielder will require a sale as Leeds already looks well-stocked in that area of the squad.

Gruev appears to be the player most likely to make way if Leeds complete a deal for Shea Charles during this transfer window.

Crap Headline Kris. What shocking development? You know full well Brandt won’t be joining Leeds. That is all just speculation put about by journalists creating articles just for advertising space. There is no evidence whatsoever in this article that suggests any of what you are saying is anything but pure speculation on your part.
