Leeds United announced their second summer signing on Friday when Tarik Muharemovic joined the club on a deal worth £34m.

The Bosnian defender is expected to replace Pascal Struijk, who left Leeds for Brighton earlier in the transfer window, in the team and solve a big headache for Daniel Farke.

Leeds have also strengthened their attack by signing Harry Wilson on a free transfer earlier this summer and remain in the market for an attacking midfielder to add more creativity to Daniel Farke’s side.

They have been in talks to sign Julian Brandt on a free transfer. However, Leeds are also working on a parallel deal to secure a move for a different attacking midfield target.

Leeds United in talks to sign 25-year-old attacking midfielder

Daniel Farke is aware that Leeds need to show more in the final third next season to ensure they do not get involved in the relegation dogfight.

Wilson has joined to bolster their forward line, and Leeds are planning to bring in one more striker to provide proper support to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

However, Leeds need creativity in their midfield to provide good service up front, and signing another attacking midfielder has emerged as a priority.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Leeds are making progress in their pursuit of Czech Republic international Pavel Sulc.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has emerged as a top target for Leeds, who have opened talks with Lyon to take him to Elland Road.

There is still no agreement between the two teams, but they are definitely making progress in talks over a deal for Sulc.

Lyon are prepared to sell him, but want a fee in the region of £21m before sanctioning his sale in the ongoing summer transfer window.

He has scored 15 goals and registered 10 assists in 42 appearances for Lyon in all competitions and is regarded highly by Lyon boss Paulo Fonseca.

Will Leeds sign both Pavel Sulc and Julian Brandt?

Leeds have been in talks with Julian Brandt’s camp since the end of last season to convince him to move to Elland Road this summer.

They have offered him a three-year contract, and his father was spotted at Thorp Arch last week ahead of a potential free transfer move to Leeds.

However, Leeds are also in talks with Lyon for Pavel Sulc, and it is unclear whether Leeds consider the Czech an alternative to Brandt or they want both.

There is an argument that Leeds do not need two attacking midfielders, given their need for a goalkeeper, a striker and one more defender.
