Leeds United have hit the 40-point mark and are likely to guarantee Premier League survival if they beat Burnely at Elland Road on Friday night.

With Premier League survival looking likelier than ever, Leeds have pressed the accelerator on their transfer plans for the upcoming summer window.

Leeds have plans to recruit midfielders, forwards and defenders. However, signing a new number one goalkeeper is likely to be one of the biggest priorities.

Lucas Perri has failed to impress, and Leeds have yet to offer Karl Darlow a new contract. The club have now made a concrete move for a new goalkeeper.

Leeds United table bid for Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper

Leeds scouts have been watching several goalkeepers over the past few months as it became increasingly clear that Perri is not consistent enough to be a Premier League number one.

It appears the club have settled on a target, as according to Ukrainian outlet Football 24, Shakhtar Donetsk have received an offer from Leeds for Dmytro Riznyk.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper has featured in the Champions League this season and has four international caps to his name.

Leeds are interested in taking him to Elland Road and have offered a deal worth around the £9m mark to convince Shakhtar to sell him.

The Yorkshire giants are now waiting for the Ukrainian giants and Riznyk to make up their minds about a potential switch to Leeds in the summer.

He has had a good season in Ukraine this year, and his performances have not gone unnoticed in the Premier League.

Riznyk would likely prefer a move to the Premier League, and the deal may hinge on Leeds meeting Shakhtar’s financial demands this summer.

Perri’s time may be up at Leeds

Lucas Perri played in Leeds’ 1-0 defeat against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Sunday; it could be his last appearance for the club.

He has not featured in a Premier League game since the end of December, and Karl Darlow has firmly established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Leeds are likely to offer the veteran goalkeeper a new contract and extend his stay at Elland Road beyond the end of the current season.

With the club actively looking to bring in a new goalkeeper, it seems almost certain that Perri will be asked to find a new club in the summer.
