Leeds United fans have been frustrated since the club triumphed in the FA Cup quarterfinal over the weekend. The Whites’ cup run has come as a bit of a surprise, considering Daniel Farke’s stance on domestic cups.
The Leeds boss has often chosen to rotate his squad and focus on the league, leading to early exits. But this season, the team has managed to make the most of their run. It has also helped that the only teams they have faced have come from the Championship before the quarterfinal against West Ham. Even that game came with a scare, as in the final minutes the Hammers scored twice to force extra time. Leeds eventually won the penalty shootout to advance to the next round.
Farke’s side will face Chelsea at Wembley in the semi-finals, which have now been confirmed to take place later this month. The Leeds United Supporters’ Trust were furious at the delay, but now everything has been confirmed.
Leeds United make announcement ahead of Manchester United clash
Leeds United return to league action on Monday night as they visit Old Trafford to face Manchester United. The Whites have eight crucial games left to determine their future next season. They currently sit four points above the relegation zone, but their run-in involves many teams in and around the bottom of the table.
Speaking of the future, Leeds have now announced that tickets for their pre-season clash with Manchester United at Croke Park are now on general sale. The highly anticipated clash in Ireland will take place in front of an 82,300 capacity crowd. The stadium is expected to be sold out, as it is the first competitive football game at Croke Park since 2009.

Friendly revenue could be key to 49ers plans
Financial reports over the last few years showed that the 49ers have invested a lot into Leeds United. And that is part of the reason why the club have been flirting with PSR sanctions. For Leeds to get close to being in the clear, they need as much revenue as possible – the Elland Road expansion is one way the club is aiming to solve that. But other means like transfer fees and revenue from friendlies also help. This fixture against Manchester United will rake in gate fees, and the club must do their best to insure that it comes off in August.
