Leeds United are getting ready for Saturday’s Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest, but there is still plenty happening behind the scenes as the club looks to reshape the squad before the transfer window closes.
The Whites remain keen to strengthen a number of positions while also trying to get several players out of the door.
Leeds have already agreed a deal to sign Nico Elvedi from Borussia Mönchengladbach, with the defender due to undergo his medical today.
The club are also stepping up their efforts to move on other players, with several departures expected as Leeds look to trim the squad, raise funds and make space for further additions.

Leeds United set to complete four deals
Nico Elvedi has arrived in England to complete the formalities of the transfer. He is set to become the club’s fourth summer signing within the next 24 hours.
However, Leeds have stepped up their efforts to move on players who have no futures at Elland Road beyond the end of the window.
Lucas Perri has agreed to a move to Torino despite Marseille trying to hijack the deal last week. He will be in Italy later today to complete the formalities of a loan switch away from Leeds.
Sebastiaan Bornauw is also in Germany to complete a loan move to Hamburg, who have a deal in place to sign him with an option to buy.
Leeds are also in advanced negotiations with West Ham for Joel Piroe, who is open to a move to the London Stadium.
The Hammers are prepared to cover his full wages during the loan stint if Leeds agree to a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
West Ham are ready to sign the striker on a permanent deal worth ÂŁ15m if they get promoted to the Premier League next season.

Leeds United want at least three more players
Following the arrival of Elvedi, Leeds would want to bring in at least three more players before the transfer window closes on September 2.
The Whites are still in the market for another striker, and have been heavily linked with a move for Burnley’s Zian Flemming, who scored twice against West Ham at the weekend.
Leeds are also looking to bring in a back-up for Gabriel Gudmundsson. However, they have ruled out signing Wolves defender Santiago Bueno.
They are also pushing to bring in a proper number 2 to James Trafford as Alex Cairns is nothing more than a third-choice at Elland Road.
The lads down the pub do not want Flemming a typical ex Millwall antagonist. His two goals were not quality strikes. A penalty and a scuffed shot that my granny could have knocked in with her handbag in addition to a missed sitter that my grandad could have headed in (it came off his shoulder). If that wasn’t enough his age at 28 means he is not a long term investment. Troy Parrott would do – he’s a clever boy.
If Leeds were going to sign Parrott they would have done it by now. Flemming is currently the only player linked with us I think is a possible deal. Leao, Paixico, Parrott, Ueda, the list goes on and on, aren’t going anywhere. Attacking wise we have added one free signing and about to off load some dead wood. Leeds are going to leave it to the end of the window again and hope to pick up a bargain or two.
If Leeds sign 3 players this week I’ll paint my backside blue and walk round Elland Road naked until I’m either arrested or make too many people physically sick.

How does an obligation to buy mean anything regarding Piroe? He only has one year left on his contract so once the loan is over he can leave for free! So if the don’t get promoted he leaves and goes elsewhere for nothing. They either pay up front or sell him elsewhere
