Leeds United target hands in transfer request at Fenerbahçe

According to reports, Fenerbahçe winger Ryan Kent has handed in a transfer request and is looking to leave the club in the coming months.

The report comes from the Scottish Sun, who sourced the news from Turkish outlet Yenicag.

In the report, it claims Kent handed in a transfer request just six months after joining Fenerbahçe in the summer. The Scotsman has only featured in one league game this campaign, and has only had cameo appearances since the start of November.

Fenerbahçe coach Ismail Kafra is said to be open to Kent leaving the club, with an eye towards a loan move this January, but it could easily become a permanent move for the right fee.

A whole host of clubs in the UK have shown interest in the winger, including his former club Rangers.

Leeds United are in fourth place in the championship, four points off Southampton and seven points behind Ipswich. Daniel Farke is expected to boost his squad this January as they seek to improve their chances of being promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.

What does Ryan Kent offer as a player?

The 27-year old is an explosive attacker, capable of taking players on before creating chances or scoring himself. His displays at Rangers caught the eye of many European clubs, especially his performances during the clubs Europa League semi final run in 2022.

Kent offers key creative threat from wide areas, he provided eight assists in consecutive seasons before departing from Scotland.

He would be a useful addition to the Leeds United frontline. Especially with the future of Wilfried Gnonto up in the air, and Jaidon Anthony only being on loan for this season.

Kent could be a smart addition in the long term too, providing competition or even replacing Crysencio Summerville who is being targeted by clubs after his incredible season so far.

How much would Ryan Kent cost?

Having already submitted a transfer request and his eagerness to leave a team he has only played seven league games for, Kent could be available for a low fee.

He also joined Fenerbahce on a free transfer last summer so any sale would be considered a profit. But currently, a fee of around £6 million is being quoted for the wide player.
