Leeds United are quietly confident of securing survival in the Premier League this season as they plan for the summer transfer window.

Daniel Farke has already identified areas of the squad he wants to strengthen for the next window, and the club are already working on legwork on deals for several targets.

Leeds want to add one more high-quality midfielder to their squad, and Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney is their top target. The club have also identified the striker they want as they prepare to replace Joel Piroe next summer.

However, the Whites are also remaining vigilant when it comes to adding high-quality young talent to their fold, and they are set to poach another one from Manchester United.

Leeds United are top contenders to sign Manchester United talent

Leeds signed Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher from Manchester United’s academy in the winter window to bolster their academy squad in the middle of the season.

They are now set to repeat the trick in the summer by signing another top young talent from Manchester United’s ranks.

According to The Talent Hunter, Leeds have emerged as the favourites to sign Manchester United’s 15-year-old winger Silva Mexes in the summer.

Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town are also interested in the young winger. However, Leeds are considered the frontrunners to sign him in the coming months.

With just a few months left on his Manchester United deal, the 15-year-old winger has seemingly confirmed his departure by posting the original story on his Instagram stories.

The 15-year-old is widely regarded as being ahead of his age group. He’s already featured for the club’s Under-16 side this season and has also cemented his place as a Thailand Under-17 international.

A deal has not been finalised yet, but Leeds hope to confirm his arrival in the coming months, beating other Premier League clubs to his signature.

The club are bolstering their academy

While survival in the Premier League is their main focus, Leeds have also been focusing on attracting top young talents to their academy under the 49ers.

Leeds signed Kai Morrell from Liverpool and Jayden Lienou from Manchester City this season, and Ibrovic-Fletcher joined in the winter window.

If the Mexes deal goes through in the coming months, that’s another young talent poached from a high-profile club in the last year.

The 49ers are keen to bring in top young talent before their value soars in the market and possibly sell them in the future for huge profits.

Several Premier League clubs have turned to selling academy players to bolster their finances and increase their spending power in the market.

Leeds are keen to follow suit and are investing heavily in bringing in young talent to their academy.

Our priorities should be to the senior squad, that includes a few out goings as well, and stop dragging your heels on targets, we are the world leaders on missing targets on a regular basis?
