OFFICIAL: Victor Orta leaves Leeds United by mutual consent

Leeds United announce that director of football Victor Orta has left the club by mutual consent.

The decision comes of the back of numerous reports from sources within the club after crisis talks were held on Sunday. After the defeat to Bournemouth, the board discussed the futures of head coach Javi Gracia and director of football Victor Orta.

The 44-year old Spaniard leaves the club after serving them for over six years.

The club statement reads:

“Leeds United can confirm Victor Orta has left the club by mutual consent.

Victor joined the Whites in the summer of 2017 and helped oversee changes at the club that led to Leeds United being promoted back to the Premier League in 2020.

Over the years Victor and his team have been responsible for recruiting players and staff that have gone on to become legends of the club.”

Leeds have their last four games to save their Premier League status.
