Leeds United’s rescheduled trip to Old Trafford to face arch-rivals Manchester United has been given a provisional date of Wednesday 8 February, with kick-off at 8pm.
The availability of both teams for the fixture is dependent upon whether either side requires a fourth round FA Cup replay after their initial fourth round fixtures due to be played on the 28/29 January.
The Premier League have made the announcement now to give supporters “as much notice as possible”, according to a statement on the Leeds United club website.
This means that the Whites are slated to meet Manchester United twice in the space of one week, as the Manchester club are already due to make the journey to Elland Road on Sunday 12 February, also in the Premier League.
Avoiding fixture congestion later in the season was the reasoning of the Premier League for the decision.
