Leeds United manager Daniel Farke was not pleased with the refereeing in his side’s 6-3 defeat at Chelsea on Wednesday night. However, the name of the official for the Newcastle clash on Monday could further infuriate him.
Farke insisted after the game at Stamford Bridge that Chelsea should not have had the penalty, which became the flashpoint for the home side’s comeback win in the second half.
The Leeds boss was also fuming after his side were denied a penalty late in the game after Noah Okafor appeared to be fouled inside the penalty box.
However, the refereeing team that has been announced for Newcastle’s trip to Elland Road could leave the Leeds manager further seething after what happened last night.

Daniel Farke was left fuming after what the referee did last season
The Premier League has announced the match officials for the Newcastle game at Elland Road, and Michael Salisbury will take charge of proceedings on Sunday.
Leeds do not have too many fond memories of the referee from last season, and he is the same official who was in charge of the Newcastle vs Leeds clash at St. James’ Park last season.
His decision to award Newcastle a late penalty after Leeds midfielder Ao Tanaka was deemed to have handled the ball while trying to block a cross left Farke seething.
The Leeds boss claimed after the game that it was never a penalty, and even Newcastle legend Alan Shearer was shocked that the Magpies were awarded the spot kick.
Leeds hope that Salisbury and his team of officials will do a better job when they are in charge at Elland Road on Monday.
Adam Nunn and Nick Hopton will take charge of the touchlines as his assistants, while Tom Nield has been appointed as the fourth official.
John Brooks has been appointed as the Video Assistant Referee for the match, with James Mainwaring taking up the role of his assistant.

Leeds need to respond with a performance against Newcastle
While an EFL Cup exit in the fourth round is not a catastrophe for Leeds, the manner of their defeat at Chelsea could have a lasting impact on the team.
Conceding six goals in one half, regardless of a poor goalkeeper, was not acceptable for a Leeds side known for their resilience and defensive solidity.
Farke hopes that it was a one-off and won’t leave any lasting scars on the players. But Leeds need a performance on Monday to get over the Chelsea result.
A strong showing and three points against Newcastle would quickly consign the Chelsea defeat to the history books.
