According to The Athletic writer Phil Hay, Leeds forward Rodrigo could return from injury in the next week.
The Spaniard has been out since February with a severe ankle problem. Rodrigo started this season on fire, scoring 10 goals – he is still Leeds’ top scorer this season. Since he went down with the injury, Leeds have struggled to be prolific in front of goal.
Phil Hay now says there is hope the striker could return as early as next week:
“He was hopeful of being fit on this side of the international break, so I think he was optimistically crossing his fingers for Brighton this weekend, hoping definitely that he’d be back in the picture, back in the squad for Wolves the weekend after.”
Leeds had just two shots on target against Chelsea, with one coming from goalkeeper Illan Meslier. The Whites will need all the firepower they can get ahead of the Brighton game this Saturday.
