Leeds United holding Man United to a draw this past weekend, has sparked the conversation about Europe once again. Last season, Daniel Farke’s side finished 14th in the Premier League.

Looking at the signings they made this summer, many have tipped them to be one of the clubs that could fight for a spot in Europe.

Farke’s men have gotten off to a great start this season; they have only lost one game in the league and have 10 points. The players are doing well and the vibe is great at Elland Road.

Leaving the game against Manchester United with just a point was frustrating, but the Whites continue their positive start to the season.

Leeds face Sunderland in their next game in the Premier League.

Leeds United have started the season really well, 10 points from seven games so far sees them in seventh place.

They are level on points with Bournemouth and Everton, and just three points off the top four. The start of the season saw shouts that the Whites could sneak into Europe.

And now the takes seem to be closer to reality, seeing how well they have played against bigger sides.

Dean Ashton has said on Sky Sports that Leeds could very well find themselves in contention for the Champions League if they continue performing well. He compared them to Brighton, and said their stability will prove to be a huge factor going forward.

“They may never get a better chance unless they can consistently get to a certain level.

“The amount of changes that are being made in the dugout of Premier League clubs and the amount of transfers, if you are a settled team, like Brighton and Leeds are, then you have got a real opportunity this season to steal a march.

“If they can continue that, then Champions League spots are up for grabs this season.”

Leeds will need a little bit more to make Europe

There is a huge advantage this year for clubs like Leeds; last season, nine clubs qualified for European competitions. And they are all in the group phase from now till January.

Which means more games in midweek, leaving clubs like Leeds to get a full week of rest before playing them.

This is an advantage they should really be capitalizing on. But the only factor that will affect Daniel Farke’s men is the lack of firepower, it has shown early in the season that goals remain a problem.

Leeds can score, but they need a lot of quality players in attack if they have dreams of making Europe.
