Simon Jordan has once again given his strong opinion following the clash between Leeds United and Man United. Both teams shared the spoils in the game at Elland Road.

Michael Carrick’s side bought themselves some breathing room, avoiding a defeat at the hand of their bitter rivals.

They surprised everyone, taking the lead at Elland Road just before half time. The goal seemed to spark life into the home side in the second period, as they came out swinging after the break.

Just six minutes into the second half, Dominic Calvert-Lewin pulled one back for Leeds.

But there was no winner as both sides spurned a lot of chances to seal the game. A point for each side will be positive, but the home side would have felt they could have gotten more.

Simon Jordan slammed Man United and Michael Carrick on talkSPORT, for their reaction after the game.

Carrick spoke post-match, saying that the result is a positive one for the team in their current form. Jordan has gone in on Carrick, saying how disappointing it is for a club of their stature to be happy with the result and their start to the season.

“We have reached a point in Manchester United’s history and achievements where they are justifying players bothering to lift a leg in a fierce game between two massive rivals that demand a performance against one another as some barometer of a new start, seven games into a season.

“Leeds are doing well, but they are not picked to be a dominant side in the Premier League, and he is making it out as if they crossed the Rubicon.

“That’s how he is dressing this up: ‘We have crossed the Rubicon this game; we played against a very difficult side in a very difficult fixture’.

“Manchester United are supposed to be a dominant force that finished third; you beat these teams.”

Jordan’s comments are a bit disrespectful to Leeds

Although he is right that Carrick and his players should not see a draw as a positive result, his comments do shade Leeds a bit.

He says Leeds are doing well but are not a dominant side, then adds that Man United should be beating ”these” teams. On the contrary, bigger clubs have tried and failed since the start of the year.

Daniel Farke’s side just have something about them that makes the best clubs in the league struggle against the Whites.

Leeds are a very good team, and have shown that they are Premier League level. A few more performances like this, and the dream of making Europe could quickly become a reality.
