Ex-Ajax boss says Arne Slot was ‘wise’ to reject Leeds offer

Former Ajax manager Aad de Mos praised Feyenoord coach Arne Slot for the ‘wise decision’ to remain at the club amid links with Leeds United.

The dutchman was reportedly on Leeds’ shortlist to replace Jesse Marsch. Slot said at a press conference during the Leeds rumours that he is happy to stay at Feyenoord, ruling himself out of the race.

Former Ajax boss Aad de Mos praised Slot for the decision:

“You can do that once, as he did at AZ. Giving his signature to Feyenoord in the middle of the season, he was never thanked for that,”

“He doesn’t have to do that. I think he will soon have the clubs to choose from. He is busy on three fronts, he can still become national champion, he can win the KNVB Cup, he can win the Europa League, so it is very wise that he doesn’t [leave].”

Feyenoord are competing for a potential treble as they sit first in the Eredivisie and are still in the UEFA Europa League and the KNVB Cup quarter final.
