A Leeds United summer signing has earned praise for his performance in the 0-0 draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
It wasn’t a great game to watch, but in difficult weather conditions, Leeds showed resilience and took a point away from home against Sunderland today.
Leeds have allowed another struggling team to avoid defeat after the 1-1 draw against Manchester United last weekend, and it was their fifth draw in their first eight league games.
The swirling winds in the north east put pressure on the Leeds defence from high balls, making it hard to judge their flight, but one player came out with flying colours.
Sunderland legend heaps praise on James Trafford

James Trafford had a difficult job between the sticks against Sunderland, as the conditions made it hard for everyone.
However, the Leeds goalkeeper looked solid, avoided errors, and delivered a remarkably consistent performance in difficult conditions.
Former Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips lavished praise on the England goalkeeper for dealing with everything Sunderland threw at him. He insisted that it was a very good goalkeeping performance under difficult circumstances.
“James Trafford was outstanding”, Phillips said on Sky Sports.
“Everything Sunderland threw at him, he commanded; he took balls on when it was windy.
“I wouldn’t say he saved Leeds, but he had a very good game.”
