‘This is why Leeds United will go down’ – Daniel Farke told the shocking truth about his side

Leeds United have made a solid start to the season, with seven points from their opening five Premier League games. The Whites have looked competitive in the top flight, but they have been warned that one issue in their squad could still take them back down to the Championship.

The Yorkshire giants have won two of their opening five league games and also managed a draw against Newcastle United at Elland Road. They were unlucky to lose at Fulham, and were thoroughly outplayed by Arsenal in their 5-0 defeat at the Emirates.

Ahead of the Wolves game, there were serious question marks about the team’s ability to score goals. However, in a scintillating 14 minutes of football in the first half at Molineux, they scored three times with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor getting their first goals for the club.

Leeds are being given a great chance to survive in the Premier League this season. However, some still feel there is one big issue in the squad that could still trip them up.

‘This is the biggest problem for Leeds United’ – Danny Murphy

Danny Murphy was pleased with the Leeds performance at the weekend and admitted that they have deserved more than they have achieved early in the season.

However, the former Premier League midfielder feels Leeds remain one of the favourites to get relegated back to the Championship at the end of the campaign.

He insisted that the lack of goals and creativity in the Leeds and Burnley teams, respectively, is still their biggest issue, and it will likely get them relegated from the Premier League this season.

“I think the biggest problem for Burnley and Leeds is firepower”, Murphy said on talkSPORT.

“I agree with what we talked about earlier. I think all the newly promoted sides doing well is great for the Premier League.

“I’d like to see them all stay up, actually. But I don’t think it’ll be the case. Burnley struggled in front of the goal.

“Leeds had only scored one, and that was a penalty, until Wolves kept giving them goals the other day. I like Leeds. Calvert-Lewin is a handful; that’s a great goal he got.”

Farke is aware of the issue

The Leeds manager wanted to sign two more attacking players towards the end of the window, but the club dropped the ball massively last month.

Leeds have looked solid and competitive, but Farke is aware that he is short of options in the final third and wants to add to their squad in the winter window.

The club are already planning for the transfer window in January, and want to sign an attacking midfielder and a winger in the middle of the season.

Leeds’ transfer priorities suggest that the club are aware of the problem in their squad and want to address that in the winter transfer window.
