News around Elland Road is already pointing to potential exits from Leeds United this summer. The club will inevitably need to make some sales before they splash the cash.

Leeds have already taken a major blow after Pascal Struijk joined Brighton.

That deal was accelerated as the club needed funds to balance their books ahead of the PSR deadline. Struijk was also not keen on staying at Elland Road, as he opted against new contract terms.

The 49ers will also be scrambling after the Karl Darlow news last week.

Darlow will reportedly not be re-signing with the Whites and has chosen a move to Manchester United. This came after he had a dispute with Farke and the club over his role for next season.

Adam Pope provides huge update on potential Leeds United exit

There has been news about potential departures this week.

Max Wober is not expected to be part of the team as they begin pre-season this week. The defender was told to find a new club, and failed to convince Werder Bremen on loan last season.

Lucas Perri is another Leeds United player who has been in the headlines a lot this past week.

Reports from Italy claim he is being pursued by Torino this summer. The Serie A club have him on their list of options after their pursuit of Paraguay keeper Orland Gill hit a stumbling block.

However, according to Adam Pope, nothing has happened on that front and the player will continue into pre-season as normal.

“This is a power shift towards Perri.” Pope said on BBC Sport West Yorkshire.

“He is under contract there, and Leeds will be without a senior keeper if they are not going to go with him.

“A lot of Italian press are saying Perri will be going to Torino, I’d imagine on a loan situation.

“He is at pre-season testing today, as far as I understand.

“It is something that hasn’t happened yet.”

Letting Perri go would complicate things

The club have just two first team keepers under contract at the start of pre-season; Lucas Perri and Alex Cairns.

Darlow is gone, and the club is already in the market for a new goalkeeper.

Perri going would mean that the Whites will have to spend on two new additions just to add depth in the position. Cairns is already the reserve keeper, so he is accounted for.

If the Brazilian is sold or even loaned out, that would leave just one keeper.

What are the odds of getting two new keepers through the door for affordable fees this summer? Keeping Lucas Perri around next season makes the most sense in every aspect.
