Leeds United are in talks to complete major deals, including James Trafford, as they begin their camp in the US. The Whites want to improve upon the team that finished 14th in the Premier League last season.
The club are pursuing a move for free agent Julian Brandt, a deal has now been offered.
The player’s father visited Thorp Arch last week. Another target Leeds are pushing to sign is Southampton midfielder Shea Charles; the Saints are not willing to budge on their valuation.
Reports claim that the Whites have made their final offer and are prepared to walk away.
Adam Pope has posted that Leeds are pushing to clinch all three deals, so there is still hope of an agreement.
Club owner slams Leeds United release clause
Leeds United had talks with James Trafford over a move, and the Manchester City man is open to a switch.
Now, both clubs are in talks over the final details.
But a report from Ben Jacobs claimed that there will be a transfer clause in Trafford’s contract if he does sign. It has not been confirmed, but it is believed to be ‘specific to a club or circumstances’.
Peterborough club owner Darragh MacAnthony blasted Leeds for allowing a clause like that in a potential deal for the England keeper. He made his point on talkSPORT.
“I am not paying £50m for someone to dictate to me a release clause.
“Absolutely, no chance. Move on. If it was £10m [the transfer fee Leeds would be paying], I get it.
“By the way, Leeds are no mugs. They are a big club, so who are you to tell us about a release clause?
“You are the number 2 at Manchester City at the moment.
“I’d be disappointed by that.”

Leeds will have to agree to this
MacAnthony is right, the deal for Trafford is forcing Leeds United to include the clause.
He is a fantastic player and is set for great things, but that should not mean the club have to give everything away to sign him.
But as it stands, the clause is what the Man City keeper needs in order to sign for Leeds.
It is highly likely the club will agree to this in order to see the deal through.
Signing Trafford will now the 49ers to wrap up other deals as they seek to build a team good enough to be a consistent force in the top flight.
This is not the result of a player able to DICTATE conditions but a negotiated compromise similar to an insurance policy in the event of things going wrong.It also illustrates the determination of our club to get the deal signed sealed and delivered.
