Leeds United have made a solid start to the season, earning five points from their opening three Premier League games and are set to face Chelsea in the third round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.

Their good start to the campaign has eased the pressure on a Leeds side that signed seven new players to improve a squad that finished 14th in the Premier League last season.

A few of the new signings have already made an impact in the first team, and Daniel Farke has been pleased with the way his side have played in the first few weeks of the campaign.

However, there are still some issues at the top end of the pitch, and the Leeds manager has a huge call to make on one of the players who is expected to contribute in the final third but has failed to deliver.

Daniel Farke must drop Leeds man with no goals in 25 games

Harry Wilson’s arrival was expected to end Brenden Aaronson’s run in the starting eleven this season. However, the American has been preferred to start over the Welshman in the first three Premier League games of the season.

The new signing has yet to make an impact in a Leeds shirt, but Aaronson has remained as toothless as ever in the final third of the pitch.

He is playing as one of the attacking midfielders in the team, but has yet to create a single chance for his teammates this season.

If we zoom out, his lack of output in the final third gets even scarier. He is on a run of ten matches without an assist in all competitions for the club.

The run is even worse when it comes to hitting the back of the net. Aaronson has not scored a goal in his last 25 competitive appearances for Leeds since last season.

Farke is a big fan of Aaronson’s willingness to work hard for the team, and it is one of the biggest reasons he is continuing to get picked.

However, at some point, an attacking midfielder needs to deliver goals and assists, and the American has not done that for a while in a Leeds shirt.

The Chelsea game is the right opportunity for Farke to change things

Daniel Farke is expected to usher in a few changes to the starting eleven for the EFL Cup clash against Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Harry Wilson is expected to start against the Blues at Stamford Bridge, and this is the ideal opportunity for the team to move on from Aaronson.

If the Welshman delivers the goods and looks more threatening in the final third, it should be the end of Aaronson’s run in the starting eleven.

Leeds need more goal threat in the final third, and it was one of the reasons why they didn’t win at Brighton despite dominating the first half at the Amex Stadium.

Aaronson has not been a goal threat for a while, and Wilson is the right man to replace the American in the first eleven going forward.

That’s why hell never be an elite manager
Too loyal or stubborn to drop poor players
Meslier took months.
