Lucas Perri left Leeds United to join Torino on loan towards the end of the summer transfer window. The Serie A club have an option to buy him next year.
The Brazilian goalkeeper joined Leeds from Lyon last summer for deal worth around £15m. However, his performances never inspired confidence, and he lost his place in the team midway through last season.
Once James Trafford arrived at Elland Road earlier this summer, it was apparent that Perri had no future in Yorkshire and his departure was inevitable.
However, the Brazilian goalkeeper has not made the best of a start in Italy and has made errors in his first two appearances that led to Torino conceding goals.

Torino coach reacts to Lucas Perris’s mistakes
On his debut, Perri endured a nightmare moment as the ball slipped through his legs during Torino’s 1-0 Coppa Italia round-of-32 defeat to Monza.
The Brazilian was at it again when he failed to get a strong hand following a timid shot and conceded a goal that he should not have against Fiorentina last weekend.
Torino fought back to win 2-1, but Perri attracted headlines for conceding another poor goal, and there are question marks over the club’s decision to sign him.
However, Torino coach Ignazio Abate has lent his support to Perri and admitted that it felt good when the defenders embraced him following the mistake against Fiorentina.
He stressed that different coaches have different styles, but he definitely wants this spirit in the Torino squad.
Abate was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato: “After Perri’s mistake, the defenders embraced him.
“This is the essence of football, and this is what I want. Every coach has his own style, but this spirit is needed.”
Leeds hope Perri will improve at Torino
Football can change quickly, but all the signs suggest Leeds are already looking beyond Perri despite the goalkeeper only being at Torino on loan.
The Serie A side have the option to make his move permanent next summer, and that is the outcome Leeds will be hoping for. A strong season in Italy would not only benefit Perri, but also give Torino enough reason to trigger the clause and turn the temporary deal into a permanent transfer.
His opening spell in Turin has hardly been convincing, but Leeds will be hoping the Brazilian can find his feet and significantly improve as the campaign progresses. The club appear to have little intention of bringing him back to Elland Road at the end of the loan.
For Leeds, the ideal scenario is simple: Perri puts his early struggles behind him, impresses Torino enough to earn a permanent move, and gives the Whites a transfer fee to show for his departure next summer.
