Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored a 79th-minute goal to rescue a point for Leeds United against Brentford in a 1-1 draw at Elland Road earlier today.
Leeds came into the game on the back of two away wins against Nottingham Forest, but were always likely to get tested by an in-form Brentford side at home.
The London club completely dominated the proceedings in the first half, and Kevin Schade’s 41st-minute goal was completely deserved as Leeds were second-best at everything before the break.
Daniel Farke’s side produced more of a coherent performance in the second half, and Calvert-Lewin’s goal earned them a deserved point at home against Brentford.
However, the away side were left fuming after a controversial decision towards the end of the game.

Towards the end of the game, Kevin Schade appeared to get tripped by Jayden Bogle inside the penalty box, and there was a huge appeal from the away fans for a penalty.
Referee Tony Harrington didn’t believe there was enough to award a penalty, and the VAR decided against intervening as there was no obvious error.
However, according to The Athletic, the Brentford camp were left fuming by the decision and believed that Bogle definitely fouled Schade inside the box.
Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman believes if the referee had given it a penalty, VAR would not have overturned the decision.
However, he feels Schade exaggerated the contact, and that may have helped the referee to decide in Leeds’ favour.
He said on Sky Sports: “Leeds want handball here from the James Justin cross, but that is not going to be given, and it should not be given.
“At the other end though is the interesting one involving Kevin Schade; he touches it past Bogle, and there is definitely contact.
“Bogle does hang out that leg; he does catch him, but the referee has deemed that not enough to be a penalty.
“I think if that is given by the referee on the pitch, there is no way that gets overturned. If it would have been given, then VAR would not have got involved.
“Bogle definitely hangs the leg out, but maybe the way Schade goes down, that’s maybe too theatrical.”
Leeds have made a solid start to the season
Daniel Farke’s side were not at their best today, but the manager would have found it pleasing to see his team dig deep and rescue a point at the end.
Leeds have four points from their opening two league games, and that’s a solid start to the campaign where there is expectation around them
The Whites will hope to add one or two players to their squad in the next 48 hours and further strengthen their hand in the Premier League.
Leeds will now prepare for a tough trip to the Amex Stadium to take on Brighton on Saturday.
