Leeds United are all set to face Burnley at Elland Road on Friday night. A lot could be on the line for the Whites in front of their home fans.
This week has not been a great one after Leeds were knocked out of the FA Cup semi-final. Ahead of the game, Daniel Farke urged his team to put the loss at Wembley behind them and focus on the Premier League. Their opponents tonight have already been relegated, and had their manager sacked. Scott Parker left Turf Moor after the club decide his future following the loss to Manchester City.
Daniel Farke made a bold change on Friday night, as he decided to drop Brenden Aaronson from the lineup. Many Leeds fans will be pleased, as the midfielder has been on a very poor run of form in the first team lately.
Former Leeds United chief spotted at Elland Road
Noah Okafor and Jaka Bijol were both fit enough to start on Friday night, as Anton Stach also returned to the lineup. Burnley were unchanged from the side that lost 1-0 to Manchester City last week. Gabriel Gudmundsson was not with the travelling squad as he was out due to injury.
In the stands before kick off, former Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani was spotted, with Adam Pope providing a picture on Twitter/X. The Italian will draw some mixed reactions from the home crowd later during the night. He was co-owner of the Whites in 2017, before fully acquiring the club later that year. It was under him that Leeds United completed the purchase of Elland Road making it the club’s property for the first time since 2004

Could be poetic if Whites clinch their safety tonight
Fans will have mixed feelings seeing the man who was in charge of their club these past few years. He made some great decisions, like bringing in Victor Orta and Marcelo Bielsa who guided the Whites to the top flight for the first time in decades. And on Friday night, Leeds have the chance to secure another season in the top flight in front of their home fans. A win would see them move nine points clear of Spurs, who play on Sunday. Any slip up by the London club could mathematically guarantee the Whites a place in the Premier League for another season. Daniel Farke and his men have a huge advantage as they play at home before any of their rivals this weekend.
