Leeds United have been recruiting with an eye on the level of Premier League football next season. So far, there is a trend among all the arrivals this summer.
Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw are the first three signings the Whites have made in this window. One thing that is obviously notable is their heights – all three players are above six foot. Two of them come from the Bundesliga, a league that thrives on pace and pressing. Graeme Bailey revealed that the Red Bull affiliation helped in scouting players in Germany.

Leeds United tipped to sign Callum Wilson

These new additions have been bought with the pace of English football in mind. They all have the physicality that will allow them to survive in the division. At the start of the summer, Leeds were linked with players with Premier League experience including Jamie Vardy and Callum Wilson. The belief was that their familiarity at that level could help boost the team.
Talksport pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Leeds United to sign Callum Wilson this summer. He even advised how the club could work around the striker’s wage demands.
“[Wilson] had so many injury problems last season, missed so much football. Leeds might look at something, but whatever package he gets at a Premier League club, it’s going to be like small wages and big appearance fees. They do that a lot for players who struggle with injuries.
“I’ll swipe right because Leeds need experience, and even if he gets 15 to 20 games next season, he will score goals.”
Leeds have a similar style to Newcastle
Callum Wilson is a striker that loves to play on transition. His best goals have come making runs off the shoulder of the defensive line.

Lucky for him, Leeds have a similar style to the Magpies. Daniel Farke had his team playing a high intensity brand of attacking football last season. If the club manage to sign Wilson, he would feel at home in this system.

Hmm. Why listen to Gobby?
