Clubs across England, including Leeds United, are scrambling to wrap up their transfer business before Monday’s deadline. The Whites have somehow found a way to end the window in a panic after a great star.
Leeds reportedly took the approach of building the team from back to front. The first wave of recruits near the pre-season training camp period were defenders and midfielders. There were reports that Leeds would identify attackers closer to the start of the season because of the price tags. But after a failed attempt to sign Igor Paixao, the Whites have been scrambling to find options up top.
Daniel Farke recently said that the club could still add one or two names before the window closes:
”We have allowed Largie and Isaac to travel for talks with other clubs. Not confirmed yet but we expect this will happen. My focus is to strengthen offence, how realistic, it makes no sense to give you a percentage but we’re looking forward to strengthen offence a bit more. If it’s one or two more we will see, whatever is possible. We want the best possible squad and everyone is working hard.”

One of the late options that has presented itself in the past few days is Emi Buendia. The midfielder’s place at Aston Villa this season looked shaky after he was on the bench for the first game. With the window closing there were rumours that he could leave. A huge update on Monday saw Unai Emery’s side make an offer for Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott, which left the door open for a Leeds move.
But John Percy of the Telegraph has now revealed that Villa have rejected a loan move from the Whites, with the club set to keep Buendia for the season.
#avfc on course to finish deadline day with some very impressive business: Jadon Sancho & Harvey Elliott to have medicals ahead of loan moves. Villa have turned down a loan offer from #lufc for Emiliano Buendia and decided he will stay. Possible deal for William Osula unlikely

Now, Daniel Farke’s side will have to look elsewhere as they scramble to beef up the attack before the Monday night deadline.
‘According to sources’ Leeds United never put in a bid for Buendi.
