Leeds United confirmed their second signing of the summer on Friday, with Tarik Muharemovic arriving in a deal worth ÂŁ34 million.

The Bosnian centre-back is expected to fill the void left by Pascal Struijk, who joined Brighton earlier in the transfer window, giving Daniel Farke a ready-made replacement in defence.

Leeds have also added Harry Wilson on a free transfer to strengthen their forward options and are still looking to bring in an attacking midfielder to inject more creativity into the squad.

However, the Leeds boss has a major headache in his goalkeeping departure this summer, and one of the club’s targets is set to join their Premier League rivals.

Ipswich Town finalise deal for Leeds goalkeeping target

Leeds were looking to bring in at least one goalkeeper even before Karl Darlow decided to ignore the contract offer and join Manchester United.

The Whites have been monitoring several goalkeepers across Europe as they are certain that they will need at least one before the window closes.

Leeds showed an interest in FC Volendam goalkeeper Kayne van Oevelen, and were keen to consider taking him to Elland Road this summer.

However, it emerged over the weekend that Ipswich Town are making rapid progress in their pursuit of the young Dutch goalkeeper.

And according to the Daily Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, the newly-promoted side have reached an agreement to sign Van Oevelen in the ongoing window.

The two sides have agreed on a fee, and the Dutchman will now travel to England to complete the formalities of the transfer in the coming days.

Ipswich have agreed to pay a fee of ÂŁ5m to secure a deal for the Dutch goalkeeper’s signature.

Kayne van Oevelen was an option for Leeds, but they are waiting for their top target

Leeds are looking at several goalkeepers, and Kayne van Oevelen was definitely on their list. However, he was nowhere close to the top target.

James Trafford is the priority target for the Whites, and the club are waiting to get involved in the tussle to sign the Manchester City goalkeeper once he returns from the World Cup.

However, Leeds may need one more goalkeeper if they sign Trafford, as Lucas Perri is pushing to move on from Elland Road this summer.

The Brazilian wants to be a number 1 again after falling down the pecking order last season, and Torino are pushing to sign him on loan with an option to buy.
