Leeds United fans have been waiting for the club to complete their latest transfer deal. The Whites were only able to confirm two signings before jetting off for their US tour.

This week, the club return to England following their last game in Chicago against Liverpool.

They completed their trip in North America with a win over the Reds, and will now play two games at Elland Road in the next two weeks ahead of the new season. In that time, the club hope to tie up a few more deals.

Sky sources revealed that the 49ers are looking at up to six new signings.

A goalkeeper (and a backup), a fullback, a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder who can play out wide, and a center forward are high on the list of targets.

Leeds United are set to tick one box this week, with the James Trafford transfer.

The club had began talks with Manchester City since last week. Many fans thought the transfer would be done during the trip to the US, but many factors lead to it being drawn out.

On Thursday, Beren Cross of The Athletic has confirmed that Trafford has completed his medical.

The England keeper is now set to complete a move said to be in excess of £40 million this summer. James Trafford arrived in the country this week and shared an update on his Instagram, showing that he was training in Carlisle.

That alone gave some fans hope that a deal could be completed in the coming days.

Now, Leeds fans can be happy with the fact that they have landed their biggest signing of the summer.

What do Leeds do next?

The 49ers can now focus on getting other targets through the door before the new season.

The long-term solution to their goalkeeping problem has now been resolved. Leeds have had to shuffle a lot of players in the club over the last few seasons, and now they do not have to continue with that.

James Trafford is a very good signing for the present and the future.

Many outside the club may have disagreements about the transfer fee, but the keeper is worth it. He is currently one of the best young keepers in the country and is coming off the back of a season where he kept two clean sheets in finals to help lift two trophies last season.

His last campaign at Burnley was even more incredible; keeping 29 clean sheets and conceding just 16 goals in over 40 games. Trafford is worth every penny.
