Jamie Carragher had a lot of positives to say about Leeds United after their draw at Elland Road on Sunday. Daniel Farke’s side blew a chance to get three points on the board.
Going into a huge game against rivals Man United, the Whites were heavily tipped as favourites.
But they were stunned by Bryan Mbeumo’s opener just before half time. Leeds went into the half time break a goal down, but the team talk was successful and they came out swinging in the second half.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalized just six minutes into the second period.
After the goal, Farke’s men had established a foothold in the game but failed to convert their chances as the game ended in a draw.

Sunday ended with the Whites dominating the game, finishing with more possession and more chances created.
They forced Michael Carrick’s side to sit back and defend for most parts of the game. Jamie Carragher was impressed with how Leeds United played, saying that it is similar to an approach Real Madrid would take.
“The best way to explain it – and I’ve been there – is when you go away to a big team in Europe,” Carragher said on Monday Night Football. “It felt like a European away performance.
“Now, when you pitch the kit Leeds wear, it almost feels like something Manchester United would do away to Real Madrid, not Leeds United. But the situation they find themselves in – I felt this and maybe Michael Carrick felt it but couldn’t say publicly – there was a decent chance Manchester United could have lost that game with the form they’re in and the morale at the club.
“It was interesting to see him almost smiling and relieved in his post-match press conference that they got out of there with something. But I can understand the flip side where the supporters are looking at the performance and Manchester United on the ball and being frustrated.”

Dominance will not always guarantee three points
Leeds United have shown remarkable improvement since they were promoted last year.
Finishing in 14th place was a huge achievement and the club is looking to build on that this season. Daniel Farke’s men have been dominant in most of their games this season, having most of the ball.
Despite that, they have dropped points and failed to capitalize to get important results.
They did not take their opportunities as Brighton clawed back to take a point, and against Arsenal, they lost despite taking the lead.
Sunday also saw Leeds dominate at Elland Road, but once again they failed to take their chances when they had momentum. If Farke’s men want to win more games this season, they should learn how to kill them off.
