The events of the Leeds United and Man United game over the weekend remain under the microscope. Both sides shared the points in a very intense game at Elland Road.

Going into Sunday, many tipped the Whites to be favourites for that game, with an outrageous 5-0 prediction in the mix. But the match turned out to be much different than anyone expected.

Michael Carrick’s side took the lead just before half time, surprising the Elland Road crowd.

Leeds were flat for most of the first half, but came out at half time and were very impressive. They equalized just six minutes into the second half and should have got something before the end of the game.

There was a moment of controversy early in the game, with Gabriel Gudmundsson catching Amad on his Achilles. The Leeds United left back was only shown a yellow card.

But there was a lot of discussion after the game that the defender should have been sent off.

Dermot Gallagher said on Sky Sports’ Ref Watch segment that it was ‘not a nice tackle’ that risked a red card.

“It’s not a nice tackle. I think the fact that he’s so close, he hasn’t got the speed and intensity, because he’s up there on his Achilles.

“I think if you make that challenge you run the risk of a red card all the time.”

Jay Bothroyd responded to Gallagher’s comment, saying that he believed Gudmundsson tried to challenge for the ball.

“I don’t think he’s intentionally trying to do that,” Bothroyd said.

“I think he is trying to change direction, he’s too slow to put his foot down and he’s put his foot on the back of his Achilles.

“But I wouldn’t call that a tackle. If they give him a red card, I’d say that’s unfortunate.”

Leeds got away with one on Sunday

Gabriel Gudmundsson’s challenge was a poor one, and on another day he could have been sent off. It is most likely that the referee knew the card would have changed the game and decided to show a yellow.

Going down to 10-men in the first half would have been disastrous for Leeds in a game where they were the favourites.

Sunday was also a huge chance for Daniel Farke’s men to continue their impressive start to the season. They could have picked up three points but their attack let them down once again.

On the bright side, 10 points in seven games is a positive start to the campaign and the fans are very happy with the team.

who in their right mind accepts anything Dermot (i love Man Utd with a passion and hate Leeds Utd with the same passion) Gallagher says.after Keith Hackett came out and said Leeds Utd should have been awarded a penalty Gallagher goes to his pro Man Utd opinion.don’t print anything again he says he’s one of the reasons why biased officiating always hit the headline.

Fernandes deserved a second yellow, never stopped having a go at the ref, in fact its every game!

What about Bruno Fernandes constant finger pointing and harassing the ref, he spent most of the game in the refs face, even whilst on a yellow, he does this every game, why does he keep getting away without a caution, its as though refs are scared of him?

I hear none of the Leeds haters complaining about the nailed on penalty, where mcguire hauled ampadu down by the neck, absolute penalty, no card nothing, but hey it’s Leeds isn’t it?
