Leeds United will be desperate to give their supporters something to celebrate when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Elland Road, but they face a side arriving in Yorkshire with renewed confidence.

Daniel Farke’s men have struggled to find consistency in recent weeks, with their 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday extending their winless run. Leeds have now gone five league games without a win, after drawing with Sunderland and Manchester United and losing to Arsenal.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have started to pick up momentum. They followed an impressive 2-0 victory away at Chelsea with a 2-0 home win against Crystal Palace, giving them back-to-back Premier League victories ahead of their trip to West Yorkshire.

However, plenty of history exists between the two sides, and the prospect of Tottenham dropping points at Elland Road has already become a talking point.

Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy discussed Spurs’ upcoming fixtures on talkSPORT, but their conversation took an interesting turn when Leeds entered the equation.

O’Hara makes Leeds prediction ahead of Elland Road clash

Speaking live on talkSPORT’s GameDay Phone-In, Cundy challenged O’Hara to set expectations for Tottenham’s next three matches.

“If Spurs are back, you should pick up nine points from the next three games”, Cundy said.

O’Hara was less confident, responding: “I’ll take seven.”

Cundy immediately wanted to know where Tottenham would drop points, asking: “Who are you dropping points to?”

O’Hara then named Leeds as the stumbling block, predicting a draw at Elland Road.

“Leeds, we’ll draw with them,” he said.

“We’ll beat them [Sunderland away].”

Cundy loses patience with O’Hara’s prediction

That prediction clearly did not go down well with Cundy, who wasted little time firing back at his colleague.

“You have got some front, you don’t learn, do you? You hear the same old guff coming out of your mouth”, he responded.

Cundy’s reaction suggested he was far from convinced by O’Hara’s assessment, particularly given the confidence with which he had backed Tottenham to take seven points from their next three fixtures.

For Leeds supporters, the exchange adds another layer of intrigue to Saturday’s meeting. Farke’s side have struggled for results recently, but Elland Road could provide the perfect setting to respond.

O’Hara believes Spurs will leave Yorkshire with only a point, while Cundy clearly thinks his prediction deserves a challenge.

The two pundits have made their positions clear. Now Leeds have the chance to answer on the pitch.

This is a terrible point to raise. It says nothing about the two teams and everything about Cundys complete unadulterated hatred of spurs and every chance to tear into o’hara’s doubt that spurs may not win. It’s a tough game and an even the spurs fan is saying that he fancies the draw. That says everything. Ignore Cundy and his loathing for spurs. A draw is undoubtedly on the cards
