Leeds United are back in league action this weekend as they face Nottingham Forest. Fans will be hoping the team can have a good start to their campaign just like last year.

The Whites will be away to Nottingham Forest and Oliver Glasner on Saturday.

Leeds have had an impressive pre-season and will be hoping to carry that momentum into the new season.

Daniel Farke will be hoping his team have a good start, with how impressive they have been this summer. The club has recorded wins over Liverpool, Sunderland and RB Leipzig in friendlies.

Daniel Farke confirms injury news ahead of Leeds United clash

With just days until kickoff on Saturday, Daniel Farke has confirmed some injury news.

Leeds United duo Wilfried Gnonto and Gabriel Gudmundsson will be out for the first Premier League game of the season. Daniel Farke confirmed this in Thursday’s press conference.

”Willy Gnonto will miss this game to do his hamstring injury; I hope to have him back in team training soon, but he will miss this game.”

”And also Gabi Gudmundsson obviously is still out for this game. Them two will definitely miss this match.”

But the German coach did confirm that the rest of the squad are available.

”All the others at the moment, as it stands, are available.”

Gnonto picked up his hamstring injury before the final pre-season game at Elland Road on Saturday. Gudmundsson got injured against Liverpool in Chicago and is set to be out for a while.

Injuries could force 49ers to dip into transfer market again

Leeds are far from done with their transfer business in this summer window.

The club are already looking for a left back to provide cover for Gabriel Gudmundsson. The Swedish international has been very consistent, but his recent injuries have raised questions.

Leeds also lack a natural left footer in his position, so they might need to address that going into the new season.

Wilfried Gnonto is also one of the only wide players at the club who play very direct.

But last season, the Italian and Dan James were very poor in front of goal; they had little to no contribution in attack.

There have been reports that another attacker could be on the shortlist in the final days of the window. Daniel Farke will surely be happy if the club provide reinforcements in attack.
