Reports indicate that Manchester City have been found guilty of multiple charges by the Premier League. Leeds United and other clubs in the top flight will now await what follows the verdict when it is made official.
City have gotten off to a strong start to this season, winning all five of their games.
Leeds are also unbeaten in this campaign, and sit fifth in the league. They entered the international break on a positive note, avoiding defeat to Crystal Palace at home.
With the news that has emerged over Manchester City’s charges, a lot of discussions have been going on in the league.
Depending on the sanctions when the decision is announced, some clubs like Leeds can sue for compensation. But they only have a case if they can prove that City’s cheating directly affected competitively.

A lot of potential sanctions have been discussed, including the possibility of being expelled from the league and relegation.
Point deductions and fines will almost certainly be laid out in the near future.
talkSPORT presenter Gabby Agbonlahor has said that Premier League clubs should consider going on strike and not play games if they feel the punishment for the Manchester side is not enough.
“The punishment must fit the crime.
“If I am the other 19 Premier League teams and the punishment does not fit the crime, I am not playing; I am going on strike.
“All 19 teams are not playing games, as the punishment needs to be severe.”
Clubs are also considering suing City for compensation, with some having serious cases to prove.

What next for the Premier League and Man City?
As things stand, no official statement or publication has come from the Premier League.
It is believed that a decision has been made, with everything else happening behind closed doors.
City will most likely appeal the decision, which will push back the date when the sanctions will be applied. Many have described the case as far from over in recent weeks, with a lot left to go.
For now, the Premier League will continue as usual with action resuming after the international break.
Leeds and other teams will no doubt be waiting for the next steps in the league’s legal battle against Manchester City.

Like it or not a balance needs to be struck when it comes to sanctions. If they strip City of all their pots over the period they have been found guilty they risk.maki g a.mockery of 3 competitions. Gabby stole a living as a footballer and looked like he was on strike every Saturday. Man City won 6 titles while breaking every rule in the book. The punishment must fit the crime, but we all know it won’t. If it was any other team barring Arsenal, they would be relegated. Points deduction will have zero effect because City lose so few games, so even a 12 point deduction would see them qualify for Europe. Fines would be useless as they are so rich. This is a pivotal decision that the FA has; either they come down hard on City. Or they give cheating the thumbs up.
the fact is is if the PL haven’t done due dilligence in their work through the books of Man City it could end up that Man city could end up suing the PL for defamation.City will appeal even if they are 100% guilty with some of their rule breaking.the reason being if they find a fault in one of the claims they can use that as a maybe the PL have made a fault with all of their suspected rule breaks.i don’t know if the appeal will go through the Sport of Arbitration or another established football authority who have no dealings with the PL directly.i believe this is the reason why the PL have taken so long.115 separate cases is a lot to go through checking and putting everything in 100% print could destroy their credibility if they haven’t done due dilligence.
