Leeds United are on a high after Monday night’s 4-1 win over Newcastle United at Elland Road, which showed how far they have come since last season.
The Whites had not beaten Newcastle in a league game since 2021, and the Magpies came into last night’s clash without a defeat under their belt in all competitions this season.
Leeds defied expectations and produced a scintillating performance that would be talked about amongst their fans for years as they dismantled a young Newcastle team.
However, Leeds fans had reasons to worry as one of their key players was substituted in the second half after he appeared to have suffered a knock.

Adam Pope reveals major Leeds injury news
Gabriel Gudmundsson recently returned from an injury he sustained during pre-season, and Daniel Farke admitted that he was surprised to see him complete 90 minutes against Brighton.
However, the full-back appeared to be struggling with something when Farke decided to take him off in the 72nd minute against Newcastle.
With the game settled by then, the Leeds manager felt that there was no point in risking one of his most important players when he was struggling with his fitness.
BBC Radio Leeds reporter Adam Pope has provided a further update on the defender’s fitness, and it is not alarming.
He claimed that Gudmundsson has not picked up a fresh injury and was only struggling due to cramps. He is expected to be fit when the Whites host Crystal Palace at Elland Road next Sunday.

Leeds need Gudmundsson to remain fit
Leeds signed cover for Gudmundsson when Melvin Bard arrived on loan on the final day of the summer transfer window, but is he good enough?
His performance in the 6-3 defeat at Chelsea was patchy, and while it is unfair to knock him down after one bad game against a quality side, he will take time to settle in England.
Gudmundsson has been brilliant for Leeds when fit, and Bard is a significant downgrade on the Swede at this stage.
With James Justin increasingly being used at centre-back, Leeds will need Gudmundsson to stay fit and in top form throughout the Premier League campaign.
