Leeds make Yeboah transfer decision ahead of January

Leeds United could be linked with a familiar name when the January transfer window opens, particularly given the impressive form of one striker making waves across the Atlantic.

The connection is an obvious one, and his recent goalscoring record has only added to the speculation. However, supporters hoping to see a familiar surname return to Elland Road may have to temper their expectations.

Leeds not pushing to sign Kelvin Yeboah

According to Football Insider, Leeds are not actively pushing to sign Kelvin Yeboah despite his impressive form for Minnesota United and his family connection to the club.

The 26-year-old has attracted interest from clubs across Europe after establishing himself as a prolific goalscorer in MLS. He has found the net 18 times in 32 appearances this season, having scored nine goals in 34 games during the 2025 campaign.

Yeboah is also the nephew of Tony Yeboah, who remains a popular figure among Leeds supporters after his prolific spell at Elland Road between 1995 and 1997.

That connection has inevitably fuelled speculation about a potential move, but transfer reporter Pete O’Rourke has played down suggestions that Leeds are seriously pursuing the striker.

“I think [links between Leeds and Yeboah] are just speculation. It’s the obvious connection because of his famous uncle, Tony Yeboah, who’s a Leeds legend. I don’t think there’s much in it at the minute”, O’Rourke said.

Yeboah contract situation could attract interest

However, interested clubs could still explore a potential opportunity.

Yeboah is entering the final 13 months of his contract at Minnesota United, with his current deal due to expire in December 2027.

O’Rourke acknowledged that the forward has done very well in the United States, and his scoring record is likely to keep attracting attention as clubs assess their options.

For Leeds, though, the family connection and impressive numbers do not appear to have translated into a serious transfer pursuit.

That does not rule out a change of circumstances before January, but for now, a return to Elland Road for another Yeboah looks unlikely.
