Leeds’ move for World Cup star “not progressing” – Phil Hay reports

According to Journalist Phil Hay, Leeds are unlikely to sign Morocccan midfielder Azzedine Ounahi.

The club have reportedly refused to budge on the valuation of the midfielder, with Amiens reportedly demanding in excess of 40m.

“Azzedine Ounahi is a player who is worth £20m to £25m and there are examples in the past of it being a flawed strategy to pay big for a player on the basis of one international tournament, having said that, he looked very good and it would be unreasonable to think his value wouldn’t increase,” Hay said on the Phil Hay Show

“But this move hasn’t progressed at all. It was one we all thought was going to get going but it’s in the background and hasn’t seemed to move forward at this stage.”

This would explain why the club has shifted their attention to Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie over the last few days. Reports claim Leeds are looking to add at least one more player before the end of the window
