Leeds reportedly turned down chance to sign Premier League midfielder

Leeds United were offered a chance to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks, according to The Athletic’s Phil Hay.

And, former United player David Norris has now spoken out, detailing that Leeds should have signed him.

Speaking to Football FanCast, he said, “I think so yeah, he’s a quality player and we’ve said before that Leeds need a little bit more back-up in that area and with what he’s done at Spurs I would have thought that would have been a good fit, a good move.”

The depth in the Leeds midfield leaves a lot to be desired with Kalvin Phillips the main man.

Mateusz Klich, Stuart Dallas and the recently-returned Adam Forshaw can play in that role, but someone of a more dominant disposition is needed.

Whilst the signing of Dan James brings enthusiasm and excitement on the wing, if Phillips has been absent then United have tended to struggle.
