A Leeds United star has received a body blow after being left out of his national team squad for the second international break running.
The omission comes after a difficult spell at Elland Road, where opportunities have been limited, and the attacking contribution has not been what the club would have expected.
He now faces another hurdle as he looks to get his season back on track.

Aaronson misses out on another US squad

Brenden Aaronson has been left out of the United States squad for the second consecutive international break.
The 25-year-old will be disappointed not to have received a call-up, particularly given his previous involvement in the national-team setup. He will now have to wait for another opportunity to impress head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
His performances for Leeds have done little to strengthen his case. Aaronson has made eight Premier League appearances this season, totalling 286 minutes, but is yet to register a goal or an assist in the competition.
His only goal involvement came in the League Cup against Chelsea, and he has struggled to match that attacking threat in the league.

Leeds need more end product from Aaronson

Aaronson brings energy and intensity to Leeds’ pressing game, but those qualities can only take him so far. Playing in advanced areas, he is also expected to create chances, score goals and make a difference in the final third.
He started against Sunderland but failed to provide the attacking spark needed to break down the opposition. Against Bournemouth, he played just six minutes off the bench.
Limited opportunities haven’t helped, but Aaronson needs to make more of the minutes he gets. Leeds are short of attacking inspiration, and a player in his position cannot afford extended spells without contributing goals or assists.
The latest international snub is another setback. His best route back into Pochettino’s plans is to start producing more consistently for Leeds.
