Leeds United were tipped as favourites going into this weekend’s game against Sunderland, but thigs did not work out. The Whites avoided defeat, but that seems to have raised questions over their season so far.
Sunday was yet another game where the lack of clinical finishing in the team let them down in a big way.
Daniel Farke’s side created a lot, but missed some huge chances to change the trajectory of the game. Sunderland also failed to score as the game ended in a goalless draw at the Stadium of Light.
Leeds still have 11 points from their first eight league games of the season.
The currently sit in seventh place, just four points off the top four. The Whites are far away from the relegation zone at this point of the season.

11 points from eight games is a decent start, but after Sunday some questions have emerged.
While some see positives from this earl part of the season, other have questioned the club’s mentality to win games. Following the draw on Sunday, Jaka Bijol spoke to LUFC media and said that the team need to change their mentality.
“We wanted to take all three. Like I said, I think last season we were satisfied with it but this season is a little bit different. We have to want it more at the end to take those three points, to change the mentality as well a little bit and to make that next step in our evolution as a team.
“I think we are on a good way to do that. We are showing some really good progress, I would say, in regards to last season. We want to make that next step and everyone in the locker room can feel that.”

Five draws in eight games is not bad for a team that wants to stay in the top flight for another season, but for Leeds fans it shows a problem.
In the summer widow, there were valid complaints that the team needed more reinforcements in attack. Almost half of the club’s summer arrivals were goalkeepers and defenders.
Jean-Matteo Bahoya and Harry Wilson were the only additions to the attack.
And since the end of last season, the Whites have struggled with goals – which seems to have followed them into this campaign. The players and Farke must address these issues going forward.
