Leeds United are in the process of strengthening key areas of the team in preparation for next season. The Whites have made two key signings so far and are working on adding a few more.
The club managed to avoid relegation and finished in 14th place in the league after winning promotion.
Improving upon that would need the team to add quality in the right places, something Daniel Farke has asked for as of last season. Two signings have been made in that regard.
Harry Wilson add an edge to the attack; the attacking midfielder had 11 goals for Fulham last season.
Tarik Muharemovic is an upgrade to the backline, and is a direct replacement for Pascal Struijk. Leeds are also in talks to complete the signing of Manchester City keeper James Trafford.
Leeds United target absent from training amid transfer links
Southampton midfielder Shea Charles, and free agent Julian Brandt are also on the radar of the 49ers.
Leeds United have target most positions in their first team squad, except at center forward. The club added Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha last season, but need more quality this year.
Graham Smyth revealed that the club have interest in Levante striker Carlos Espi.
The 21-year old Spaniard has been making waves after last season in La Liga. He managed 12 goals in 27 games in all competitions and is attracting serious interest this summer.
Matteo Moretto indicated that Espi is set for a move to England, but reports from Spain on Tuesday say the player’s destination is a secret.
Cadena SER in Spain are also reporting that the striker was not in Tuesday’s training session with the Levante first team. He was present at the training ground, but the club are protecting him.
Carlos Espi has a £21 million release clause this summer.

Leeds could do with a striker
Carlos Espi could be a perfect fit for Leeds United; he has the physical profile to thrive in England.
He can play as a lone striker and in a partnership, meaning he can play alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Lukas Nmecha. Playing two strikers would also be a fit in Daniel Farke’s new system.
And for his release clause, he is more affordable than most big name targets this summer.
Leeds lacked multiple goal threats last season, with one player handling the goalscoring burden. The team having more options up front will also be a huge boost ahead of next season.
