Leeds tipped for controversial Daniel Farke decision this summer

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has a year left on his contract at Elland Road, and the club are yet to offer him an extension.

The Leeds boss has had to weather plenty of scrutiny this season to prove he belongs in the Premier League, especially after some called for a change just weeks after the German guided the club up from the Championship.

There were lingering doubts about his ability at this level following his difficult spells with Norwich City, and pressure intensified late in 2025 when Leeds hit a rough patch, with calls growing for him to be sacked.

But with Leeds now closing in on survival and following an FA Cup run to the semi-finals, the conversation has shifted, and there is now increasing talk of him extending his time at Elland Road.

Journalist clarifies the situation Daniel Farke is in at Leeds

The 49ers are aware of Farke’s contract situation, and it is likely to be addressed at the end of the season to ensure he feels safe and secure at Elland Road.

TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has conceded that there were serious question marks around Farke at Leeds earlier in the season when the Whites were struggling.

However, with survival in sight and a trip to Wembley later, the German is safer than ever at Leeds and will continue at Elland Road in the 2026/27 campaign.

“There were question marks earlier in the season”, Crook said on talkSPORT.

“But after a trip to Wembley, he is definitely safe.”

Farke has earned enough credit in the bank with the Leeds owners to continue. However, the FA Cup semi-final again exposed some concerns that Whites fans have around him.

He has not entirely convinced the Leeds fanbase despite his current popularity

Steven Gerrard slammed Daniel Farke for not reacting quickly enough in the first half against Chelsea and changing his tactics after he saw his team get dominated in midfield at Wembley.

This is a familiar complaint against the Leeds manager, who is often accused of being too set in his ways and married to a certain style and system.

He was almost forced to change his formation earlier in the season, as it was clear he was on the brink of getting sacked had results remained the same.

Leeds supporters have also voiced frustration that Farke hasn’t always taken responsibility for poor results in big matches, including Sunday’s semi-final defeat.

A new deal for Daniel Farke looks increasingly likely, though some doubts about his management style still linger, even if they’re being pushed into the background for now.

If they stay up here deserves another season
Give him some proper money
Its an over rated league
4 really good players could take them into Europe
His in game management is very poor and his choice of keepers
Just like biesla in that respect
