After their disappointing defeat to Chelsea over the weekend, Leeds United have only the Premier League left to focus on. Their surprising FA Cup run came to an end at Wembley.

The Whole fanbase had hope of making the final, but things did not go their way. Chelsea needed an early first half goal from Bruno Fernandes to walk away with the win. The Whites are back in action in the Premier League this week as they host Burnley at Elland Road. Scott Parker’s men shocked Leeds when they visited Turf Moor, taking all three points.

But the circumstances are different this time around, as the Clarets have been relegated. Parker’s future is also being discussed this week, leaving a big of confusing in their camp ahead of Friday’s game.

Premier League announce fixture change for Leeds clash

The Whites will have three league games left after facing Burnley; one home game and two away games. Daniel Farke’s men will face Spurs, Brighton and West Ham. Leeds currently have 40 points in the league, and are six points clear of Spurs in 18th place. But with the London side and Nottingham Forest picking up wins over the weekend, things are not finalized at the bottom of the table.

If the Whites fail to get something against Burnley, then they could be dragged back into the relegation battle with three games to go. On Tuesday, the Premier League officially confirmed the date for the game between Leeds and Brighton. The match is now set for a 3pm kick off on Sunday 17th May. And according to Leeds’ official website, the match has been selected for live coverage on Sky Sports.

Burnley game has even more stakes now

It was just a week ago that it looked like Leeds had confirmed their safety in the Premier League. Two wins against Manchester United and Wolves saw them go nine points clear of the bottom. But now, the picture has changed a bit with a few games left. Another result on Friday could be enough to guarantee top flight football next season. Burnley will not be an easy task, as they have already beaten the Whites this campaign. Daniel Farke must rally the troops and make sure there is no complacency. Dropping points this week could put them right back where they were after the international break.
