Lack of quality in attack has been a problem Leeds United fans have complained about since the summer. Club chiefs made it clear that PSR was the main reason why the club missed out on big names.
The Whites were linked with some top attacking players in the transfer window, but ended up with none. Leeds signed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha on free transfers, and added Noah Okafor for £18 million. Fans were not impressed when these deals were initially confirmed in the summer.
But as the season has gone on, Leeds have gotten a lot of quality from these three attackers. So far they are the top three scorers for the club in all competitions. Calvert-Lewin has been fantastic, and Nmecha has been a solid backup, with Okafor slowly getting back to form these past few months.
49ers plan to sign goal machine
There was a period just a few weeks ago that Leeds went a number of games without scoring. Dominic Calvert-Lewin also had a goal drought for a couple of months. This prompted reports that the 49ers could look to the summer transfer market for a new center forward.
The Whites have been linked with multiple names including Juventus star Lois Openda. TEAMtalk are reporting tat the club has shifted their focus to Feyenoord striker Ayase Ueda. The Japanese international has scored 26 goals in all competitions and is attracting top names across Europe. Spurs and Leeds United are just a few of the clubs monitoring his progress ahead of this summer. If the striker is to make a move, the World Cup will play a huge part this summer; if the 27-year old performs, his price tag will go up.

FA Cup exit proves Leeds need firepower
Leeds have had their problems in front of goal from the start of the season. Even with Calvert-Lewin scoring 12 goals, the club have lacked quality in key moments. There have been so many games where Leeds could have won or drawn, but missed chances at crucial moments change the course of the game. This past Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final was a huge example. Brenden Aaronson was through on goal, but fluffed his lines – if he did score, the Whites could have capitalized on that momentum in the first half. It is very good that the 49ers are exploring attacking options ahead of next season.
