Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has faced some criticism for not playing the club’s academy products enough. However, the German coach has continued to test some of the academy’s brightest prospects in the first-team environment.
Farke has faced some flak this week for not handing Harry Gray his Premier League debut this season after the 16-year-old sensation scored a hat-trick for the Under-21s in the National League Cup on Tuesday night.
The Leeds boss has remained insistent that the teenage striker needs to continue to train with the first team while playing for the Under-21s for his confidence and development.
It seems unlikely that Gray will be in the Leeds squad for the game against Wolves on Saturday, but one of his academy teammates was handed the opportunity to train with the first team this week ahead of the big Premier League game this weekend.

Daniel Farke allows Leeds academy starlet to train with the first team

Harry Gray has been hogging the limelight in the academy due to his performances and the famous surname. However, there are some terrific young players in the Under-18s and the Under-21s.
Leeds Under-18s midfielder Callum Mills trained with the first team this week after impressing this season with the academy sides.

He has scored twice and registered two assists in four Under-18 Premier League appearances for Leeds this season and has caught the eye of the coaches.
The 17-year-old midfielder trained with the senior squad, which shows he is on the radar of the first-team coaches, too.
Mills is still some way away from getting his senior debut, but he is clearly being watched by the first team this season because of his performances for the Under-18s.
