Leeds United get huge boost – Wilfried Gnonto back in training for Wolves showdown

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has revealed that Wilfried Gnonto is a major doubt for his side’s trip to Molineux to take on Wolves. However, the winger could just be fit enough to be in the squad on Saturday.

The Whites have a few injury concerns ahead of their big game on Saturday. Lucas Perri is still out with a muscle injury, and Gnonto’s calf problem has presented Farke with another issue to solve for his team to face Wolves.

Daniel James is unlikely to return to action this weekend, which means Leeds could again see Brenden Aaronson lining up on the right flank of the team, much to the frustration of many supporters who feel he lacks the attacking edge to improve the team’s play in the final third of the pitch.

Farke has indicated that Jack Harrison could soon be in the starting eleven, and he would be a more attacking choice than Aaronson. However, the Leeds manager may not have to choose either of the two players.

Can you name the team Leeds United signed these players from in the 2000s?

Wilfried Gnonto spotted in training with Leeds ahead of the Wolves trip

Farke revealed on Saturday that Gnonto is a major doubt for the game against Wolves because he is struggling with a calf injury.

The Italian’s absence would pose a selection problem to the Leeds manager as he was seen as the solution to replace Aaronson in the starting eleven.

Harrison is one more option, but Gnonto would be favoured if he is fit to be in the team against Wolves on Saturday, and there is some hope.

Gnonto was spotted in training with the Leeds first-team on Thursday, which could mean he could just make it to the squad.

It is likely to be a late decision, and the winger may only be fit enough to be part of the matchday squad rather than the starting eleven.

However, his availability in any capacity would be a boost as he is a far more attacking option than Aaronson on the right flank and could come in handy against a Wolves side low on confidence.

Farke hopes that Gnonto is ready to be part of the squad and travels to Molineux as he needs his forwards to step up against Wolves this weekend.
