Leeds United are yet to confirm a new signing as pressure grows on the club to get their summer transfer window going in the coming weeks.

They have a deal in place to sign Harry Wilson on a free transfer. However, they are yet to announce his arrival despite the winger signing a four-year contract with the club at the end of June.

Leeds have already sold a key player in Pascal Struijk, and there are question marks over the future of Gabriel Gudmundsson after he impressed at the club.

The Whites have been widely linked with a move for Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. However, a move to sign the Japanese international is on the verge of collapsing.

Zion Suzuki turns down an offer from Leeds United

Leeds have been in talks with Parma and the representatives of Zion Suzuki over a deal to take him to Elland Road in the ongoing transfer window.

His impressive performances at the World Cup convinced Leeds about his qualities, and the club believed that they were in a good position to sign him.

They were prepared to meet Parma’s ÂŁ26m valuation, and were ready to offer Suzuki a lucrative five-year contract to join the Whites this summer.

However, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Suzuki has turned down an offer from Leeds for a move ahead of the new season.

Leeds were pushing hard to convince him to move to Elland Road. But it appears that he is not keen to join Leeds this summer.

It is unclear whether the move is dead in the water or Leeds can still convince Suzuki with a better financial offer in the ongoing transfer window.

However, it seems the Whites are now unlikely to sign the Japanese goalkeeper.

The recent interest from Juventus has also played a part in Suzuki turning down Leeds in the ongoing window.

Leeds need to clarify their goalkeeping position soon

With Leeds out of the race to sign Suzuki, the club now need to clarify their goalkeeping situation soon, as the squad are set to reassemble for pre-season training.

Karl Darlow has an offer on his table to continue at Leeds. However, the Welshman has yet to decide whether to sign a new contract or pursue interest from Everton or Manchester United.

Lucas Perri’s future at Elland Road is also under the scanner after a poor first season at Leeds, who are prepared to move him on if they sign a new goalkeeper.

With just days left for pre-season training to begin, the club need to sort out their goalkeeping confusion soon.
