Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe has ensured fans that the ownership will spend on the team this summer. However, he did warn that it would be a logical approach.

Speaking in a statement to the club’s supporters at the end of the season, Marathe said the club would do everything to spend this summer.

However, he warned that some players will have to leave Elland Road in the process.

”This summer, instead of Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), the Squad Cost Ratio (SCR) will impact our transfer market approach. As our accounts reflect, we spent every penny possible, as promised, to earn promotion and keep the club in the Premier League. Our approach to the transfer market will once again be strategic and disciplined to comply with regulations while striving further to improve, and players will both arrive and depart as a result.”

The question of which players will leave this summer will be one fans will be eager to find out.

Last summer saw a handful of first team players leave on temporary deals. Per reports, most of them are set to return for different reasons. And coming off the back of a poor season, some first team players might be given the axe.

Leeds United ready to accept offers for £15m

Leeds United signed goalkeeper Lucas Perri last summer, as they felt they had addressed their goalkeeping problems.

The Brazilian became one of the club’s most expensive arrivals in recent years, and there were a lot of expectations on his shoulders. In the start he looked to be what fans wanted.

It was as the season progressed that injury derailed his campaign. When he returned late in the year, he started making errors and Daniel Farke made the call to bench him for the rest of the season.

Perri was limited to just cup games in 2026, with many around the club acknowledging that the technical team had lost hope in him.

Many at the club are expecting him to be around next season, but the latest reports suggest otherwise. Football Insider claim that Leeds are willing to listen to offers for the £15 million man this summer.

The latest on Nick Pope’s situation

As things stand, most people at Elland Road are not sure which goalkeepers will be under contract next season.

Karl Darlow, Alex Cairns and Illan Meslier are out of contract this month. And coupled with this latest news about Lucas Perri, it has given legs to the rumours this past week.

Newcastle United goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Elland Road. He is set to be replaced by the Magpies next season, and could be sold this summer.

Pope would cost less than the £10 million spent to sign him years ago, which would fall into Leeds’ range.

However, the latest news surrounding the Newcastle United shot stopper is that the club have asked him to report to pre-season in the coming months. They will then decide his future after what happens then.
