Leeds United have one final pre-season game this weekend against Augsburg before starting preparations for the opening game of the Premier League campaign against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
James Trafford showed exactly why Leeds were willing to break their transfer record for him, producing an impressive performance against Manchester United after arriving from Manchester City.
Tarik Muharemovic and Harry Wilson have also made encouraging starts to life at Elland Road during pre-season and look set to play important roles in Daniel Farke’s plans for the new campaign.
Even so, Leeds still have plenty of work to get through before the transfer window closes, and work is underway to finalise the arrival of a fourth summer signing.

Leeds close in on target as selling club push for replacement
With Sebastiaan Bornauw seemingly on his way out, Daniel Farke wants to bring in an experienced centre-back who can provide reliable cover when needed.
Leeds have been linked with Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi throughout the summer, with the 29-year-old now emerging as a leading option to replace Bornauw.
Elvedi impressed for Switzerland at the World Cup and is believed to be keen on the chance to play in the Premier League next season.
Leeds revived their interest in the defender earlier this week, but the move has gathered serious momentum over the last 24 to 48 hours.
The Whites have already agreed personal terms with Elvedi over a contract and are now preparing to make a formal offer for the 29-year-old.
According to German magazine Kicker, Gladbach sporting director Rouven Schroder is working on signing a replacement centre-back in the coming days.
The German club want to sign a replacement before sanctioning Elvedi’s departure to Leeds in the ongoing transfer window.
They want somewhere around £8.5m, but a deal is now more than likely, and they just want to have his replacement lined up before Elvedi leaves.
Leeds would be adding experience with Nico Elvedi
Sebastiaan Bornauw was a useful squad player for Leeds United, but he never really got enough opportunities to establish himself as a dependable back-up.
Nico Elvedi would be a very good replacement. The Swiss defender has plenty of experience playing at a high level in one of Europe’s major leagues and has already worked with Daniel Farke in the past.
He is also a regular for Switzerland, so Elvedi would bring plenty of experience and quality to Leeds’ defence. If the Whites can get the deal over the line, it could turn out to be another smart piece of business.
The 49ers have generally recruited well in recent seasons, and Elvedi could be the latest example of that. Leeds are clearly intent on improving the squad that finished 14th last season, especially with several of their Premier League rivals also strengthening.
All these links, and all going elsewhere, way too slow, have we actually got any ambition in signing whats needed, seems easy to get rid of quite a few squad players on the cheap yet again? 🙈
