Lucas Perri remains a Leeds United player, with his next destination still yet to be decided. The Brazilian keeper had his sights set on an exit even before James Trafford arrived.
When Karl Darlow left Elland Road on a free transfer, it was clear Perri was not in line to be first choice.
That is when Leeds decided to pursue a move for Trafford. It took over a week of talks and negotiations between all parties before the transfer was sealed for the England international.
Trafford’s arrival gave the greenlight for Perri to leave the club.
Torino were the club that looked certain to sign the 28-year old after weeks of talks with Leeds.
Leeds United suffer transfer blow with latest update
The Serie A side had already reached personal terms with the goalkeeper, who was looking for a fresh start.
Perri was benched at the midpoint of last season, and only featured in the cup games till the end of the campaign. So he jumped at the chance to move to Italy when the offer arrived.
However, when he was set for a medical this week, Marseille presented an offer.
Lucas Perri will now have to decide where his future lies; whether in France or Italy.
TEAMtalk have revealed that in the initial talks between Marseille and Leeds United over Perri, Igor Paixao was discussed. Graham Smyth reported earlier in the window that the Brazilian was a player on the club’s radar after they missed out on him last year.
The report from TEAMtalk has given an update on the winger’s status.
According to their sources, Paixao has no intent to leave Marseille and is happy to stay.
The French club have already slapped a £43 million price tag on him – showing that they are not ready to let go anytime soon.

Whites need to move on to other targets
With all this latest information, it is quite clear that a move for Igor Paixao will be very complicated.
Marseille are looking to make a profit over the player they signed last year, meaning he will not come cheap.
And it is unlikely that a move happens at this stage of the window.
Leeds United must press on with getting targets who are within their reach before the season begins. Daniel Farke has complained about the lack of quality in attack since last season.
Now, the 49ers need to get upgrades in that area of the pitch.
I honestly don’t think Leeds have any intention of bidding for him. Move on.
He clearly does not want to play for us and the owner is clearly delusional about his value, so move on, it is their loss.
