Leeds United Youth FA Cup tie postponed

Leeds United’s FA Youth Cup third round tie with Accrington Stanley has officially been postponed.

The tie was supposed to take place on Wednesday night at the LNER Community Stadium in York, but the game has been moved to a later date.

The postponement comes as a result of a frozen field at the LNER Community stadium. Tuesday night’s National League match between York City and Solihull Moors has also been postponed, because it seems doubtful that the pitch situation will improve.

Leeds’ Youth FA Cup game has also been cancelled as a result, the game will now take place on Tuesday, December 20, with kick-off scheduled for 7pm. The winner of the tie will go on to face AFC Wimbledon in the next round of the competition.

Leeds United are in seventh place in the U18 Premier League, with 13 points in the season so far. The club have won the FA Youth Cup twice, in 1992-93 and 1996-97.
