The past week saw a lot of shocking news emerge from Leeds United camp. The futures of some first team stars were decided in the first week of training in Germany.
The biggest shock came when Daniel Farke revealed that Patrick Bamford was out of his plans for next season. Bamford was expected to at least feature in the Premier League, but it looks like he is on his way out.
Farke then revealed that Mateo Joseph had asked for a transfer away. The Spain U21 star will not report to camp and will stay in the UK to resolve his future.

Girona interested in Leeds United star
Real Betis showed interest in Mateo Joseph and even had a loan offer rejected.
Now the race for the 21-year old has ramped up. Catalan media outlet L’Esportiu, via Sport, are reporting that Girona have submitted an offer for the forward.
The report claims the La Liga side are not willing to meet Leeds United’s asking price, but are said to be keen on a loan deal.

AS Journalist Joe Brennan spoke on the situation involving the forward. According to him, there is interest from Spain, but as to whether Leeds respond to the offers is a different story.
“Farke has just told reporters in Germany that Joseph has asked to leave for Spain. We know Betis have been linked heavily, and you’re right in the sense that his minutes looked limited, so I guess it makes sense.”
“I guess the issue now is what Leeds are willing to accept. Will they take a lower offer now if Joseph leaves, or will a loan suffice? I’m not too sure, but what’s clear is that Leeds aren’t bending over for anyone in this transfer market, so it will be interesting to see how much influence player power has in this scenario.”
Joseph missing U21 training is a bad sign
Mateo Joseph asked for a transfer, and made his decision clear when he chose not to come to the camp in Germany. Daniel Farke will not take this lightly, as Wilfried Gnonto learnt the hard way. The winger had to work his way back into the team after trying to force a move.

Last week, a Leeds U21 XI played a friendly with players like Patrick Bamford and Sam Greenwood. Mateo Joseph opting not to be a part of it definitely means that his time in West Yorkshire is up.
Why do the headlines mention Man City but not in the body of the article? Click bait??
Because the articles are just regurgitated crap designed to create advertising space and the writers come up with any old irrelevant headlines to get you to click through and possibly click on an advert. Google also gives weight to sites that have lots of pages and also reader retention times. So a good trick is to get readers to look for things that are not there which keeps the reader on the page rather than just clicking off. As you say, click bait.
