Leeds United have wrapped up their latest transfer, as the club prepares for the upcoming season. The 49ers have been kept busy since last weekend.
They beat Augsburg 4-0 in their final friendly at Elland Road ahead of the new campaign.
Daniel Farke’s side begin their Premier League season away to Nottingham Forest this coming weekend.
In the coming days, Leeds will push to get some transfers over the line. The club reportedly has a list of targets that they want to bring in before the transfer deadline closes.
Joel Piroe and Sebastiaan Bornauw are the latest exits at Elland Road.
Nico Elvedi speaks after completing Leeds United switch
As of Wednesday, it has now been confirmed that Nico Elvedi is a Leeds United player.
The defender joins on a permanent deal from Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach, where he worked under Farke.
In his first words for his new club, he mentioned that one of the things he is looking forward to this season is beating Manchester United. This will no doubt get the fanbase on his side early in his career.
“I’m very excited,” he told LUTV.
“I am very happy to be here, everything is done and I can’t wait to play for this club.
“I know Leeds have a big history, Manchester United is also a big rival so we will try to beat them this season. It is such a big club with amazing fans and I also can’t wait to play in this stadium with the fans. I saw some videos from the stadium, from the fans, and I love it. Everybody told me it is a special moment to go through the tunnel and see the atmosphere. I can’t wait to see that.”

49ers have made major upgrades this summer
With the arrival of Elvedi, Leeds United have signed just four players in this transfer window.
James Trafford, Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic have been the other additions, with two of them arriving earlier this summer.
Leeds have arguably made an upgrade in each position with these arrivals; Trafford comes in straight to become the club’s number on and Harry Wilson is a huge boost to the attack.
Tarik Muharemovic comes in as a direct replacement for Pascal Struijk, who joined Brighton.
Now Nico Elvedi comes in as Sebastiaan Bornauw leaves on loan. The Swiss international will add some much steel to the backline ahead of the new Premier League season.
This lad will fit in nicely. Beating Man United always on the list of priorities. Fan favourite in the making
